World’s Greenest Cities 2018

Online travel specialist TravelBird recently revealed the results of its study on the world’s greenest cities for 2018. The results reflect cities offering adequate green space, as well as sustainability efforts. All of the cities in the top 10 provide the highest ratio of green space per person.

Top 10 Green Cities 2018

  1. Reykjavik
  2. Auckland
  3. Bratislava
  4. Gothenburg
  5. Sydney
  6. Prague
  7. Rome
  8. Bern
  9. Hamburg
  10. Riga

TravelBird compared data on 50 worldwide cities, looking at the percentage of green space per person. The green space is categorized as forest and woodland, nature reserves, parks, public gardens, maintained grass, golf courses, orchards, vineyards and farmland. These all represent natural, man-made and food production sites.

Tokyo, Istanbul, Athens, Lyon and Santiago are the cities with the smallest percentage of green space per person.
