This massive market is full of souvenirs you’ll want to take home. It’s the perfect spot to stock up on presents before your flight.
A tianguis is an open-air market, such as a flea market or a farmer’s market, and there are more than 1,000 in Mexico City. The Tianguis del Chopo started as a place for vinyl heads to swap records, but it’s now a favorite place for punks and metal heads to buy clothing and accessories.
Whether you come to shop or just to soak up the atmosphere, this market in the Roma neighborhood is a great place to spend a Wednesday. There is a random selection of items for sale, including food.
For upscale arts and crafts, this is the place. Prices are higher than many other markets, but don’t be afraid to haggle.
