Food & Drink

San Francisco is a notoriously expensive city to spend time in, whether you’re living there or visiting for a short trip. Restaurants are no exception. Dinner and drinks at myriad spots around town will put a dent in your bank account.

Luckily for budget-conscious travelers there are a number of options for cheap meals. The best spots also serve unforgettable meals that offer great food and a dose of culture.

Off the Grid

This food truck rodeo changes spots throughout the city, so be sure to look for updates online.

Super Duper Burgers

This local chain serves pared-down, but impeccable, burgers on the cheap around the city. Paired with the house pickles, these are pretty killer.

Little Star and Delfina

Some of the city’s finest pizza, all on the cheap.

La Taqueria

Don’t let the long line and general chaos scare you away. This Mission district spot is legendary for its burritos, and the tacos aren’t bad either. Take them to go and eat them in Mission Dolores Park.

Toyose

Great Korean fare, and a good spot to bring a group of people.

Chili House, Dong Bei Mama and Mission Chinese Food

When you’re in the mood to singe your taste buds with spicy Szechuan Chinese cuisine, these spots are tops.

Pakwan

Indian fare, reliably delicious.
