Walk along the Golden Gate Bridge, which connects San Francisco to cities in Northern California and offers views of the Pacific Ocean. Unlike other California cities, San Francisco mornings are brisk and filled with picturesque plumes of mist.
Take the bus back to the Mission District for lunch at the Green Chile Kitchen. This restaurant offers a causal and healthy take on Mexican cuisine and specializes in green chile-infused dishes. Order a chile relleno burrito and strawberry or green chile lemonade for $12.
Peruse the Mission District and wander up and down San Francisco’s famous, winding and hilly streets. Visit the Cable Car Museum and learn about the city’s iconic trolley system. Take a ride for $6.
Wander over to the nearby Chinatown and explore the stores, galleries, fortune cookie factory, tea and herbal shops in the largest Chinatown in the United States. Dine at The Pot Sticker. Try the sweet and sour bean curd and corn-flower steamed buns for about $15.
Head back to the Mission District and end the night with a concert and drink at the Revolution Café , order a ginger beer for $4 while enjoying the city’s musical culture.
