While wedding dresses get all the attention before and during the ceremony, they are usually relegated to storage after the big day. Instead of stashing your gown in storage, use it to make a difference in other women’s lives by donating it to a charity, such as Brides Against Breast Cancer.
Brides Against Breast Cancer collects dresses from brides across the nation and sells them at weekend bridal shows in 150 cities across the nation. Their most popular styles are mermaid, fit and flare and gowns with “sweetheart” necklines. Lace, sleeves, “illusion necklines” and “dramatic backs” are also trendy this season.
Brides Against Breast Cancer’s dresses range from sizes 4 to 20 and cost an average $600. These weekend bridal expos also feature bridal accessories, such as tiaras and veils. The donated dresses sell at reduced prices to raise money for the Health Support Network, an online community that provides free resources and support to patients and their families.
All dress donors receive a tax deduction letter and can easily register online to donate their dress. Pay it forward by making another woman’s dream come true and helping to support cancer patients.
