Jackson, Wyo., is a small town located in Jackson Hole, surrounded by some of the most popular ski resorts in the country. That said, spending an entire day there on a budget is no easy task. You can probably forget about a hotel, but you can still take a peek around and dine out for less than $100.
Start the morning with a meal at Creekside Market & Deli where you can find a made-to-order sandwich for less than $10. You might even be able to swing a coffee.
Since nobody heads to Jackson just to stay in town, make the most of your morning with a ranger-led tour of the Grand Teton National Park. These are typically free to groups. For lunch, make your way back into town to Pica’s Mexican Taqueria for another meal for less than $10.
In the afternoon, check out Jackson National Fish Hatchery, free and open to the public. It’s a great place to explore if you have kids thanks to the small fishing pond where they can learn how to be an angler for the first time.
Afterward, be sure head to the National Museum for Wildlife Art and take a walk along their outdoor Sculpture Trail and other fun showcases.
For dinner make your way back into the heart of town and stop at Pinky G’s Pizzeria for some delicious Italian food with non-traditional toppings. It’s a hipster joint and the vibe is definitely unique. A meal here should cost no more than $20.
If you have any free time, take a walk around and see the shops. Be sure to have at least $30 on hand for souvenirs.
