Locked with a Zombie: Room Escape Adventures

Room Escape Adventures are popping up all over the country and growing in popularity among groups of friends, families and even coworkers for corporate team building. The idea is similar to The Amazing Race, only participants are confined to a room in which they must use their communication skills, teamwork and ingenuity to escape.

Each room can hold 12 people, friends or strangers, who will have 60 minutes to attempt an escape. Participants have to then try to solve riddles and complete tasks required to find the key to escape.

One catch, there will be a zombie chained to the wall, locked inside the room with the group. Every five minutes, the zombie’s chain is loosened one foot adding pressure to the participant’s need to escape. Hoping to distract the captives, the zombie reaches and grabs at participants. If the zombie touches a captive, that person will have to sit down and can only participate through communication.

There are no cellphones allowed in the room so participants will truly be immersed in the concept and feel cut off from the rest of the world for an hour. This scare-tactic bonding adventure may not be everyone, but it will definitely be a memorable experience for those brave enough to try.
