Pop-Up Naked Restaurant, Bunyadi

Bunyadi graced the London food scene this summer with a pop-up, naked dining experience. Diners would book a table at the restaurant and enjoy fresh, raw, local and seasonal cuisine for $44–66 a person, before drinks.

Between the bamboo, high furniture and blacked-out windows, diners should feel free to disrobe or not and enjoy the “back to nature” restaurant experience. Bunyadi has a strict no-cell phone policy in keeping with the natural theme and to protect guest privacy.

Each guest is escorted into a locker room where they can change from street clothes to a robe and slippers, provided by Bunyadi. Once ready, guests follow the naked hostess to their table, seated among other robed or disrobed diners.

Between three- and five-course meals are then served by a naked wait staff. Guests can enjoy raw vegan and raw non-vegan cuisine among other unconventional diners. The décor and ambiance of the restaurant resembles that of a luxury spa with candles, low lighting, music with warm air and energy flowing.

The London location lasted the length of the summer and was immensely popular, with more than 45,000 bookings over the course of a few months. The next location of the restaurant remains secret, only shared to those who sign up for the email newsletter available on the site.
