Finding a backpack suitable for long treks, millions of miles and whatever surprises may await when traveling the world is a heavy endeavor. Doubts may arise as to whether the backpack in question is big enough, lightweight enough, holds enough content, etc. A company called Barracuda has the answer to all of these questions in the form of their new Konzu model backpack, touted as the “world’s most advanced backpack.”
The backpack’s technological capabilities reach a new level. If a person accidentally leaves a pocket slightly unzipped and open, the backpack will sound an alarm to inform the user of this safety hazard as well as one-touch zipper locks to keep items secure. Charge devices on the go with a built-in wireless charging function and a battery with USB connectivity.
For weekend trips, the backpack expands to fit slightly more items if needed, and makes security scans a cinch with a TSA-approved laptop computer sleeve. Travelers with selfie sticks can take advantage of the backpack’s compartment to hold the stick and serve as a mount for photographing.
What’s more, the material is water resistant, lightweight and comfortable for the everyday traveler.
Currently on KickStarter, the backpack (and corresponding charging station) is available for pre-orders at a discount rate of $159 plus shipping, more than $80 off the retail price of $249. The backpack has an expected launch date of May 2017.
