The traditional Hiragasy is the official national Madagascan dance of the island and includes a day-long event of music, dance and storytelling. Dating back to the 18th century, this event sees more than 80 troupes perform throughout Madagascar. Located in the Ilhorombe region, Isalo National Park spans more than 300 square miles. A local guide is required to enter the park, with options for guided treks lasting anywhere from a few hours to a week.
