Queensland, Australia, entices visitors with recent hotel openings and new properties slated to open later this year through 2028.

The Sundays

Opened in April, The Sundays is a 59-room boutique hotel in Whitsundays. Situated on Catseye Beach, the property also boasts private poolside cabanas, interconnecting room options and a waterfront seafood restaurant.

 

Mondrian Gold Coast

Australia’s first Mondrian property opened in June in Burleigh Heads. Housed in a 24-story building, the hotel features 208 rooms including a penthouse suite, multiple dining venues, a pool club and spa.

InterContinental Brisbane

InterContinental Brisbane opened mere days ago as the third InterContinental property in Queensland. The urban oasis offers 321 guestrooms, four signature restaurants and close proximity to many popular landmarks.

 

Andaz Gold Coast

Hyatt’s first Andaz property in Australia will debut in 2025. The property will feature a multitiered pool deck, three dining venues and luxe interiors.

 

Dorsett Brisbane

Dorsett Brisbane is slated to debut in 2026 in the city’s prestigious Queen’s Wharf redevelopment. The hotel will be home to 387 guestrooms and suites, a pool, spa, and all-day dining venues.

Hook Island Resort

A $40 million redesign of a former wilderness lodge in Whitsundays is underway, with an anticipated completion in 2027. The resort will feature 39 biophilic cabins, two dining venues, forest eco pools and wellness spaces.

 

The Calile Noosa

This luxury property is expected to debut in 2028 with 153 guestrooms, 29 suites, four villas, a wellness center and a 160-plus-foot pool.
