Wedding Centerpieces You Can Make Yourself

How To's

Wedding centerpieces can range from simple arrangements of a few wildflowers to elaborate displays with multiple vases and knickknacks. If you plan to create your own, remember to keep your overall wedding in mind. Is it a simple affair, or is it elaborate itself? Are you celebrating outside where items may be exposed to the elements, or are you in a climate-controlled indoor environment?

If you plan to create your own wedding centerpieces, spend some time browsing the Internet for ideas. Pinterest is a great place to start, as is The Knot.

Websites like Etsy may have unique items you can buy to use in your centerpieces, from vases to bottles to wood rounds to succulent plants. If you’re feeling you might be short on time the day of your wedding, skip fresh flowers, which will need to be purchased as close to the wedding as possible. Potted plants work well instead, including herbs. If you don’t have a green thumb, get the plants from the nursery as close to the wedding as possible so they’ll still look fresh.

Consider incorporating your wedding colors into the centerpieces, as well as photos or other mementos. And remember that guests may assume they can take the centerpieces home, so don’t put out anything you don’t want to part with.
