What kind of accommodations would you like to stay in while visiting the Greek Islands? It can be a tough toss up. Greece, similar to the rest of Europe, is known for its smaller boutique hotel accommodations. As tourism has grown in these areas, larger luxury resorts have popped up as well. Here’s a list of pros and cons for staying at either.

Remote Resorts

Remote resorts in Greece are perfect for honeymooners. They offer privacy, luxury and space — but may be farther set back from all the action.

Pros: Privacy, more space, more amenities/luxuries, larger pools, larger balconies

Cons: Remote locations (car rental may be necessary), fewer convenient dining options, isolated

Boutique Hotels

Boutique hotels in Greece are the norm, and offer a traditional Greek experience. They are usually built in the thick of popular areas offering fantastic views and accessibility to the area’s main attractions, dining, shopping and fun. They may also require a hike up a few flights of stairs.

Pros: Accessibility, views, convenient location to dining, shopping, homey quirks, attentive staff

Cons: Smaller space, less amenities/luxuries, less privacy, more noise (especially at night) and lots of stairs
