In-between seasons can be tough on the wardrobe, but there are arguably none as tough as spring. With the rainy season upon us, it’s time to prep yourself and your wardrobe for the downpours to come. Good news, though, at the end of each rainy season is a bright and flowery spring and summer to follow. Here are some tips on prepping your wardrobe for April showers.
Raincoats
There are two types of raincoats you’ll want to have in your wardrobe this spring — at least. One that is lightweight and breathable for the warmer, humid rain later in the season and one that is heavy and durable for those “raining cats and dogs” days. Some great brands to check out for high-quality raincoats include Patagonia, Columbia and Everlane.
Boots
The same thing goes for rain boots in the spring, although most rain boots are similar in weight and durability — you can opt for a shorter boot on days when the rain is lighter and the temperature is a little higher. Some great short boots include ones from Hunter and Sam Edelman.
Umbrellas
Don’t be caught in the rain and wind with a flimsy umbrella — is it really worth the cheaper price when it flips inside out on your way to work, leaving you drenched? Invest in a sturdy and durable umbrella; check out Amazon’s best sellers for some options.
