Philadelphia is one of the friendliest LGBTQ+ cities in the United States, and yearly there are usually pride parades, OutFest in October and other events to support the community. The parties and nightlife Philadelphia has to offer are even better, and here are some of the best spots to have a good time while visiting.
The Gayborhood is an iconic neighborhood in Philadelphia and runs from Chestnut Street to Pine Street and 11th Street to Broad Street. Each street sign is designed with rainbow colors so the area can be found easily. There are a variety of bars and nightclubs in the area to enjoy a night out on the town.
Some of the best bars to visit are:
McGillin’s Olde Ale House is one of the oldest pubs in the city. The menu and beer selection are vast, and there is usually a karaoke night every week.
Woody’s is a longtime gay bar and dance club in the heart of the Gayborhood. The bar hosts events on a regular basis, and they have served the gay community for almost 40 years.
Dirty Frank’s is a cash-only dive bar that has eclectic ornaments hanging from the ceiling and a warm and welcoming environment for all.
Boxer’s PHL is a gay sports bar with shirtless male bartenders to make the night more exciting. There are pool tables in the back and it is welcoming of everyone despite sexual orientation.
Voyeur Nightclub hosts a lot of events and has multiple dance floors to party into the wee hours of the morning.
The Bike Stop is a leather sanctuary. Expect to be greeted by people wearing leather inside or outside the bar. Enjoy wings and beer with this crowd until closing.
Head to Philly and soak up all the city has to offer.
