Tips / Other

If you are a big fan of the Christmas movies on the Hallmark Channel, then you are well aware they are addicting. During the holidays I can’t stop watching them; our DVR is filled with ones we’ve seen 1,000 times and brand-new premieres. If you are new to the Hallmark Christmas scene here are some classics and new movies to keep an eye out for.

Christmas Next Door

An author of bachelor lifestyle books who isn’t a fan of Christmas gets left in charge of his niece and nephew while their parents go on vacation. Although he has no interest, the kids are so excited for Christmas and want to do traditional Christmas activities, like making cookies and decorating the tree. At a crossroad they turn to his neighbor to help bring the Christmas spirit to their uncle, which sparks an unsuspected romance.

A Very Merry Mix-up

This is one of my all-time favorite Hallmark Christmas movies. A woman who is about to meet her future in-laws for the first time arrives in town to find her luggage lost and her phone broken, leaving no way to contact her in-laws. As fate would have it, she runs into her future brother-in-law who takes her home to meet the family. Although from the title you can tell there is a mix-up, so could she have gone home with the wrong family?

Christmas at The Plaza

Christmas at The Plaza premiered this year. The all-star cast makes it a can’t-miss this season. This movie features a historian hired to create an exhibit in honor of the history of Christmas at The Plaza and an interior decorator hired to spruce up the hotel. While spending so much time together, they find themselves catching feelings for each other.

Stay in This Restored 1920s School Campus

In Fayetteville, West Virginia, you can now stay in what was once the town’s high school and middle school, thanks to the opening of Hill Hall Hotel. The 40-guestroom boutique property stretches out over the 1923 high school and Mid-Century middle school buildings, retaining some of the original architecture and layout, while updating amenities to meet modern travelers’ needs.
