A new food festival enters the Catskills and the event, Catskill Cuisine, already has some heavy-hitter talent lined up to participate in the inaugural fest. The event, May 12–13, features headliner celebrities like Alton Brown, Scott Conant and Alex Guarnaschelli.
Beyond celebrity chef appearances, workshops, tastings and demos, the festival will also offer family-friendly entertainment and music, all at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, known as the site of the 1969 Woodstock festival. Regional cuisine, farmers and products will also be highlighted.
General admission tickets include access to cooking demos, tastings, appearances and kids’ events, but V.I.P passes offer extra opportunities for fun, like meet and greets with chefs and behind-the-scenes tours.
Organizers expect up to 3,000 attendees for the inaugural event.
“We’re thrilled to host the inaugural Catskill Cuisine Festival and celebrate the bounty of the region with the community and visitors,” said Eric Frances, CEO, Bethel Woods Center for the Arts. “With the backdrop of our breathtaking and historic grounds, this event promises to be a unique experience that can only be captured in the Sullivan Catskills.”
Roberta Byron-Lockwood, president and CEO, Sullivan Catskills Visitors Association, added, “Our county’s distinct energy and thriving culinary scene will be on full display, just as we gear up for the bustling spring and summer season.”
