Who doesn’t love a good beer trail? Now, exploring North Carolina’s beer scene — and drinks scene overall — is a little bit easier, thanks to Cabarrus County’s new Explore and Pour tour. The tour is made possible through a free, mobile passport program taking you through the county as you visit not just breweries, but also wineries, cideries, distilleries and other points of interest.

There’s no downloading any apps required; all you have to do to take the tour is sign up at ExploreCabarrus.com or by scanning a QR code found in the area’s print destination guides, after which you’ll receive the mobile passport via text or email. As you visit destinations within the passport, check in on your mobile device, earning redeemable points along the way.
“This destination is home to so many incredible makers and small business owners and we’re excited to further showcase their passion and expertise through the new trail,” said Donna Carpenter, president and CEO, Cabarrus County Convention and Visitors Bureau. “We’re thrilled to see how locals and visitors utilize this free passport to discover and rediscover why Cabarrus is such a great place to explore through our vibrant beer, wine and spirits scene.”
If you’re not familiar with Cabarrus County, this south-central region of the state is about 20 minutes from Charlotte and home to Charlotte Motor Speedway.
