Man-icures: Spa Packages for Men

Health & Wellness

Most people equate spas with women, but men deserve some TLC as well. While most men wouldn’t be enthused at the thought of a pedicure, who can say no to a full-body massage?

Some spas offer couples’ packages where men and women experience services side-by-side — think parallel massage tables. Some Korean spas offer co-ed saunas and steam rooms, as well as massages. These locations are popular for honeymoons and usually offer discounts or special packages for newlyweds.

In contrast, The Beverly Hot Springs is a full-service spa and sauna with separate floors for men and women. It is the only 100 percent natural hot springs spa in Los Angeles and is fed by an underground artesian well. Water temperatures naturally fall between 96 and 105 degrees.

Yet, other spas cater to a mainly male clientele. The Gendarmerie in West Hollywood has a full array of services for men to choose. This luxury spa is a one-stop location for everything from bread trimming to facials. Try the Sports Manicure, which comes with a hand and elbow massage, for $30.

Spas are as rejuvenating for men as for women — visit these locations and others for a rejuvenating afternoon. There is no shame in wanting to be pampered.
