The Bartesian is being called the “Keurig of cocktails” by many sources. The futuristic-looking kitchen appliance will ship to consumers in spring 2016, along with the six signature capsules released at launch. The Bartesian uses miniature cups similar to K-cups to produce high-quality, delicious cocktails in seconds. All you have to do is provide the liquor and go.

The capsules released alongside the machine include Cosmopolitan, Uptown Rocks, Margarita, Bartesian Breeze, Sex on the Beach and Zest Martini. The capsules contain concentrated versions of all the fruit juices, mixers and flavorings you need to create a cocktail. While the Keurig has a water reservoir, the Bartesian has liquor reservoirs for gin, vodka, rum and tequila. The drinks sound simple yet delicious, using just a few ingredients for each option — such as vodka, grapefruit juice and cucumber bitters for the Zest Martini — but the Bartesian’s purpose is to make the cocktail-creating experience fast, easy and error-free. No worries about adding too much or too little liquor to your drink here — the Bartesian even lets you pick the strength of your concoction. Each capsule has a barcode, which the machine scans, ensuring the drinks come out right every time.

After launch, more drink options will be added and become available for purchase. You can preorder your Bartesian on their website, but be warned, this machine is a bit pricier than its coffee counterpart. The Bartesian’s pre-order price is $300, while a pack of one dozen of the capsules is $20.
