For those planning a distant-future Serengeti safari trip and exploring accommodations options, a new Marriott safari lodge set to open in 2026 might make a perfect fit. The property, JW Marriott Serengeti Lodge, will be the first of its kind in the region and the second overall JW Marriott luxury safari lodge in Africa (the first, JW Marriott Masai Mara Lodge, opened in Kenya in early 2023).
Once open, JW Marriott Serengeti Lodge will offer a pristine setting within Serengeti National Park, situated between two rivers. The intimate lodge encompasses 30 suites, all with their own private pools and deck areas, as well as meeting and event spaces and several dining options.
Getting to the lodge will be an adventure in and of itself. Guests must first fly into Kilimanjaro International Airport, and then take a flight to an airstrip within the Serengeti, or they can choose to take an eight-hour scenic drive offering a glimpse of safari experiences to come.
After arrival, guests enjoy ample opportunities for wildlife viewing and immersive experiences as they explore the vast wilderness landscapes home to some of Africa’s most iconic wildlife, including lions, leopards, buffalo, rhinoceroses and elephants.
