This month, a new exhibition at IMAGINARI, an exhibition space in Soho at 480 Broadway, blends art and science in a celebration of all things insects. The exhibition, dubbed The Insect World, will be set across 17,000 square feet and encompass a range of artwork from artists from around the world.
The interactive exhibition, which runs through November 2024, will feature unique and photo op-worthy elements such as a 12-foot cherry blossom tree covered in 200 butterflies; a milkweed garden filled with caterpillars; and interactive, larger-than-life bees. While walking through the exhibit, guests will hear a unique soundtrack of Hz frequencies. Overall, the exhibit’s aim is to create a greater appreciation for the natural world while also harnessing the power of social media to spread awareness of environmental issues.
The self-guided experience through the exhibition lasts about 60–90 minutes. Tickets are available online and start at $28.80 for children under 7 and $36.00 for adults, with increased pricing for fast passes and weekend hours. Throughout the year, the exhibit will also welcome special events and programming to align with the exhibit’s theme; first up is a book signing for Rebugging the Planet by Vicki Hird.
