Airbnb will do more for travelers with disabilities by integrating accessible listings into its rental platform. The home rental site acquired Accomable, which helps travelers find accessible places to stay. Srin Madipalli and Martyn Sibley, friends with Spinal Muscular Atrophy and world travelers, founded Accomable. They created the site to help make travel easier for all people and now Airbnb is hoping to include that aspect in its rental platform.

Accomable’s listings stretch to more than 60 countries; all of them will soon be offered through Airbnb. Listings have step-free access, high-quality photos of the space and information on what other accessibility adaptations are included.

Srin posted on the Accomable website saying he considered the decision for a long time and worked with Airbnb to make sure accessibility doesn’t get relegated to the back burner.

“During our time at Airbnb, we were left in no doubt that Airbnb shares our mission and we are convinced that joining Airbnb provides the best opportunity to take our dream and mission to a global level, using the current reach of Airbnb’s community of four million hosts and 100 million guests to work together and make the world more accessible,” he wrote.
