Your mother always said, “Don’t run with scissors!”, but did she ever tell you, “Always travel with professional stylist scissors!?” No, I thought not. During your long, arduous travels along the backpacking trails, your hair is no doubt going to get out of control. Unless you want your hair to look like a member of Motley Crue, and you don’t want to shell out cash for a haircut, bring a decent pair of scissors with you.
For backpackers, it’s a no-brainer. Your hair is straggly, unsightly and always in your face. You’d rather spend your money on another beer than hitting the barbershop. If you’re at a hostel, your trusty scissors at hand, and you meet someone who can do a good job at cutting hair, here is your chance to get a free haircut. You might make a lifelong friend in the process and you can even buy them a drink as a thank you. Hell, you should even let them be creative with your hair and if you end up with a ridiculous looking mullet, well you can put it down to experience and a story to tell down the road.
With a simple, lightweight pair of stylist scissors, you can save a few bucks each month, make new friends and in a pinch you can even use it for a literal game of rock, paper, scissors!
