The prime purpose of a vacation is to escape the worries and stresses of everyday life and surround yourself with new stimuli, but a vacation can be severely disrupted if you’re unable to distance yourself from your responsibilities back home. Amazon’s Cloud Cam can help assuage these frets by keeping an eye on things on the home front while you’re busy distracting yourself with the new.

Setting up an Amazon Cloud Cam in your home will provide surveillance 24 hours a day. By downloading the mobile app, travelers can check in and view what’s going on in their homes. If motion is detected, users will receive a notification and can view the footage to see if it’s anything unusual or just a pet roaming the empty space. Two-way audio also lets travelers update family members or even speak to pets.

At night the camera detects the low light and automatically employs night vision technology to let viewers see their spaces in the dark. Alternatively, users can turn off this feature via the app.

Available on Amazon.com for approximately $120, the Amazon Cloud Cam is a bit pricey but worried travelers will argue you can’t put a price on security. A 30-day free trial is available during which users can try out the features in their home to learn if the cam is a worthy investment.
