The Aroo Mini Bar is unfortunately not that kind of mini bar, but its usefulness will come in handy during your travels. A handheld, rechargeable vacuum compressor, it can save up to 60 percent of space in your suitcase or bag. Starting on Kickstarter, it’s raised more than $10,000 and support is still growing.

The lightweight device is small and sleek (just 4 ounces), making it easy to pack in any suitcase or carry-on. It comes with a rechargeable lithium ion battery (charged via a USB port) and adapts to any vacuum storage bag you might have on hand. Plus, you can replace your storage bag’s sealing cap with the Achoo Mini Bar seal adapter, which can ensure your luggage stays nicely compressed no matter how much turbulence you encounter.

“Today’s travelers are constantly looking for space-saving hacks to get more room in their suitcase,” said Ned Morris, creator, Aroo Mini Bar. “Our goal in creating the Aroo Mini Bar was to take the stress and energy out of packing by providing more room — with a simple, portable solution. The positive response we’ve seen on Kickstarter shows that travelers are ready for a more convenient, low-stress solution — and we’re excited to fill this niche in the market.”

Backers who register now will receive an additional adapter and discounts. The base pledge required is $54. Estimated delivery is November and it ships anywhere in the world.
