The 24th annual San Diego Latino Film Festival kicks off in March. The festival began as a student film festival and since expanded to one of the larger Latino film festivals around the country. More than 3,680 films and videos have been screened.
This year’s event takes place March 16–26 at the AMC 18 Fashion Valley and the Digital Gym Cinema. The festival focuses on films made by Latinos or about the Latino experience. Several different festival passes are available. The all-access pass includes access to more than 120 screenings, priority seating, entrance to VIP parties and filmmaker workshops for $225. The film pass includes entrance to more than 11 films and the priority seating line for $110. The five-ticket pack gains you access to five films for $45. For individual screenings, tickets cost $11.50.
In addition to the screenings, the festival offers parties, workshops, art exhibitions and opportunities to meets international film and television stars. Volunteer opportunities are available including ushers, public relations, community partner coordinators, photographers and postcard, flyer and poster distributors.
