Adventure

Part bike race, adventure race, obstacle course and backyard party, Urban Assault Ride is a citywide scavenger hunt participants complete on their bikes.

The pedal-powered adventure involves teams of two exploring cities around the United States on routes filled with various checkpoints. At each stop, participants drop their bikes and complete an adventurous obstacle course. Racers then remount their bikes to hit the streets for more.

Taking no more than five minutes to complete, obstacle challenges featured in the past include big wheel racing, bike jousting, kayaking, BMX peg rides, mini bikes, inflatable slip and slides, roller coasters, bouncy balls, bike limbo, puzzles and paint ball. Each season, the event switches the obstacles up, so participants never experience the same obstacle twice (except for big wheel racing, which is always included).

The goal is to complete all the checkpoints on the itinerary as fast as you can. Participants choose their own route and checkpoint order.

After crossing the finish line, racers get to enjoy an after-party celebrating bikes and beer. All beer sales benefit Urban Assault Ride non-profits.

Upcoming events are taking place this summer and fall in popular cities, including Denver, Minneapolis, Des Moines, Austin and Tucson.
