Plymouth, Massachusetts, was home to the first Pilgrim settlement in America, and remains today one the country’s most charming small towns. Spectacular restaurants are all over this tourist town, and here are a few offering great eats that won’t break the bank.
Big Al’s Breakfast and Lunch is a local favorite that serves delicious food and great attitudes. The staff is renowned for its friendliness and attentiveness, and the portions are large. The open kitchen means you know your food is handled with care, and the lively atmosphere helps wake you up to a great day.
Sandy’s at Plymouth Beach is the perfect spot for a little seafood at sunset. It rests right on the beach and is typically crowded with locals rather than tourists. The food is your usual beach fare, including fried fish and burgers, but the atmosphere is funny and friendly and the location can’t be beat.
Pillory Pub is the place to be for a cold drink after a long day of touring the town. It’s location right next to Plymouth Rock offers excellent views and the staff is phenomenal and friendly. The food here is typical pub fare, mainly burgers and fries, but its selection of beer and a welcoming atmosphere put it a notch above the competition.
The Blueberry Muffin is another incredible breakfast option in Plymouth and offers insanely large portions for the price. While the namesake muffins are great, the real crowd pleasers here are the perfectly cooked pancakes. In fact, they’re so good many customers forego syrup entirely.
