These four-wheelers brighten lunch hours, events, weekends and hungry passerby with innovative eats from their tiny kitchen. It is more common to see food trucks serving top-notch, fresh food of an imaginable variety. Whether you’re looking for ice cream, lobster rolls, falafels, waffles or a cheeseburger, look no further — NYC food trucks have heard your calls.

Hard Times Sundaes, parked in easier-to-access Williamsburg, means business. This burger truck offers single-, double, and triple-stacked burgers from behind the Pfizer Building. Order them with free raw or grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, pickles and jalapenos, or crispy bacon for an extra $1.25.

The King of Falafel on the corner of Broadway and 30th Street in Astoria, Queens, is cooking up Vendy Award-winning falafel, shawarma and kebabs. Crowd favorites include thinly sliced beef-and-lamb shawarma, daily baked pita bread and a falafel burger with zaatar and tomato.

A lobster roll from Luke’s Lobster isn’t necessarily a cheap lunch at $15, but its fresh Maine shellfish, so what else would you expect?

“All of the world is a wafel and all of us are merely dinges,” is the Wafles & Dinges catchy slogan — being a waffle isn’t so bad, right? If you order from here, you better learn how to pronounce spekuloos. The truck smothers waffles with this delicious substance that resembles cookie butter, plus a variety of tasty toppings like maple syrup, Nutella and dulce de leche.

Coolhaus fulfills the adult craving for an ice cream sandwich, beyond the traditional chocolate and vanilla. Choose from cookies like double chocolate with sea salt, maple flapjack and match them with homemade ice cream like avocado sriracha, mocha marcona or brown butter candied bacon. Coolhaus offers suggested pairings; however, create your own sandwich but make sure it’s edible. After all, you’re paying $6.
