The Irish capital has a reputation as a great place to party, and there are plenty of places to do so.
Start your evening with a few warm-up pints in some of Dublin’s most famous pubs. The Brazen Head is the oldest in Ireland, serving beer to happy customers since 1198. If tradition, or the Irish stout, starts to weigh a little heavy, head out to The Odeon. This 1920s-inspired venue is a breath of fresh air, and you can get some cocktails in to give your stomach a rest from heavy stout.
From here, it’s time to make a move to Dakota, a trendy bar which attracts a young crowd to its warehouse-style interior, for a few more drinks. If you’re up for something a bit different, check out Bruxelles. This strange place has become something of a Dublin institution thanks to the mixture of music it plays, which is everything from indie to pop via metal.
If you are still on your feet, head to Whelan’s. This true Dublin favorite has multiple floors and is a famed late-night venue for indie fans.
For those that would prefer something slightly classier, Octagon Bar is for you. Owned by U2 members Bono and The Edge, this swanky place serves up slightly pricey cocktails to a sophisticated clientele.
True night owls can finish their night at Tripod, known for its house and techno on Friday nights. On Saturday nights, the music selection is more chart-based, but it’s open late and is almost always busy.
