Tips / Destination

Nimes is a great place for food lovers, and you can eat well even on a budget. Here are a few top choices for amazing dishes that won’t break the bank.

Le Patio Littré boasts a varied, healthy menu with set menu lunch deals that are an absolute bargain at around $20. If the weather is nice, sit in the shady courtyard as you savor the incredible flavors.

L’Imprevu is another good spot for a $20 lunch with two courses. It’s on the Place d’Assas, good for people watching from the lovely terrace. Closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

La Buena Onda is an Argentinian restaurant specializing in empanadas and ceviche. If you’re looking for a change from French cuisine, check this place out.

Patisserie Courtois sounds like a bakery, but it is, in fact, a restaurant. Á la carte dishes can be had for around $12 and there are a few tables on the terrace, too.

For those on a tighter budget, head to the kebab and sandwich places dotted around the city. There is a little cluster of them on Boulevard Victor Hugo, and you can get a meal for around $5.
