Mardi Gras bursts to life along Mississippi’s Gulf Coast, and 2024’s celebrations will be no different, with a vast array of festivities and events awaiting travelers and locals. The region’s 116-year history with Mardi Gras is displayed along the coast, showcasing decades of traditions.
Here’s what’s in store for 2024 Mardi Gras:
Biloxi 12th Night Celebration (Jan. 5)
This annual event kicks off the Mardi Gras season in Coastal Mississippi with bright lights illuminating the royal courts’ parade and city hall. The 116th celebration is free to the public and coincides with First Friday at Biloxi City Hall, starting at 5:30 p.m.

15th Annual OS Night Parade (Feb. 9)
Beginning in 2009, this parade has grown into one of the most popular Mardi Gras parades in the region. The OS Night Parade runs the Friday before Fat Tuesday at 7 p.m. from Front Beach in Ocean Springs.
Krewe of Diamondhead Mardi Gras Parade (Feb. 10)
The Krewe of Diamondhead hosts this annual parade the Saturday before Mardi Gras Day. The family-friendly parade begins at noon and invites all to catch beads and stuffed animals as the parade travels from City Hall to the Diamondhead Country Club.
2024 Krewe of Neptune Night Parade (Feb. 10)
Also on Feb. 10, his annual parade travels down the streets of downtown Biloxi. The unique celebration features marching bands and towering floats commissioned in New Orleans and transported to Biloxi. The event begins at 5:30 p.m.
Gulf Coast Carnival Association Mardi Gras Parade (Feb. 13)
The oldest and most prestigious Carnival organization in Coastal Mississippi has been running since 1908. The parade features 24 association flats, many private entry floats and more than 450 sponsors. Its King d’Iberville and Queen Ixolib are considered the official royalty of MS gulf Coast Mardi Gras. The celebration runs from 1 to 3 p.m.
