Mall of America in Minnesota is already known as a tourist attraction, with its more than 500 stores, entertainment venues and attractions ranging from roller coasters to an aquarium. Next year, though, the mall welcomes a new offering to its entertainment lineup: Museum of Illusions.
Museum of Illusions isn’t really just one museum, though. The overall Museum of Illusions brand is a worldwide grouping of private museums (the biggest chain of private museums worldwide), with similar locations in Chicago, Dallas, Dubai, Milan and more. The museum group also plans to come to other top destinations like Seattle, Sydney and Washington, D.C. Each museum is branded as an “edutainment” venue.
“Museum of Illusions is excited to bring its unique, interactive and immersive experience to one of the largest entertainment spaces in the world,” said Jonathan Benjamin, CEO, Museum of Illusions. “The Mall of America is a national tourist hot spot and shopping mecca, making it a perfect location to share our creative and unique spin on entertainment as we continue to expand to many more cities around the world.”
The planned museum for Mall of America, expected to open in early 2023, features more than 6,000 square feet of optical illusions, immersive illusions, holograms and more.
