Trends

Club Wyndham partnered with survey company Talker on a study of emerging travel trends for 2025. What’s in store this year?

Road trips prove most popular for 2025, with 40 percent of respondents preferring to drive to their destination. Slow travel, or traveling without an itinerary, ranked as second-most popular. Family is an overall focus for 2025, with 61 percent of respondents planning on taking a family vacation this year. Cost (52 percent) and the destination itself (49 percent) are top driving forces when choosing a vacation. Travelers planning off-season travel indicated weather (42 percent) and avoiding crowds (27 percent) influenced their decisions.

The top 10 travel trends for 2025 are:

  1. Road trips
  2. Slow travel
  3. Home-away-from-home trips
  4. Multigenerational travel
  5. Off-season travel
  6. Microcations
  7. Immersive travel
  8. Experiential travel
  9. Solo travel
  10. Staycations

“The anticipated rise of home-away-from-home travel in 2025, along with the continued interest in trends like road tripping and multi-generational travel, demonstrate that Americans want to prioritize comfort, adventure and connection while on vacation with their loved ones next year,” said Annie Roberts, SVP, club and owner services, Club Wyndham.

The survey was conducted between Sept. 27 and Oct. 7, 2024. Talker surveyed 2,000 individuals who traveled within the last year. Visit the website for more information about methodology and full results.
