Trends / Unique Itineraries & Tours

Not all travel allows for days upon days of exploring a specific locale and, with a limited number of annual vacation days, some travelers aim to squeeze in as much adventure as possible. Conrad Hotels developed a program that targets this subset of travelers who may only have hours to see a city on their way to another or during a short stopover between flights.

Appropriately named Conrad 1/3/5, the program offers itinerary suggestions, tours and lists of must sees for travelers who only have one, three or five hours in a given destination. Participants can select from a list of 22 cities such as Singapore, Dublin, İstanbul or Bali, and then select the number of hours they plan to spend in the city, or at least as part of the experience. Travelers can then browse experiences from categories including food, shopping and arts and culture, among others.

For example, a traveler with three hours in London can book an excursion called Swanky Bar Theatrics, which features a tour of bars, jazz clubs and cocktail spots in London’s West End neighborhood. Or with five hours in Bangkok, guide yourself (or hire a guide) through two of the city’s treasured temples as well as the Grand Palace. Each experience is outlined on Conrad’s website and offers the option to take the journey alone or to enlist the assistance of a local guide.

Although it is difficult to truly see a city in such little time, these short excursions allows visitors to capture the highlights and get the most out of a limited visit.
