Essential oils have a wide range of mental and physical health benefits when used topically, and the scope of the benefits are even wider when dispersed in the home.

There are a lot of diffusers out there, but they’re not all the same and some are far better than others. After trying several and experiencing leaking, poor diffusion and other electronic glitches, I stumbled across URPOWER’s 2nd Version Ultrasonic Aroma Essential Oil Diffuser. The new generation diffuser provides even more mist than the old version, eliminating dry air and helping with dry skin, sinuses and lips.

The 100-milliliter, cool-mist humidifier comes with an adjustable mist mode, an auto shut-off feature and seven LED color light options — ideal for bedrooms, hotel rooms, tabletops and offices. Simply add a couple drops of your favorite 100-percent pure essential oil, select your favorite light color and the preferred amount of mist and enjoy.

The diffuser works up to the six hours and will automatically shut off when it runs out of water — unlike other diffusers, which have a shorter lifespan because they burn out when left on overnight.

Some personal suggestions: Put two drops of lavender oil in the diffuser before bed and select the warm yellow color light for a peaceful night sleep; put a couple drops of lemon oil in before hosting guests for a fresh, clean scent in your home; and add three–four drops of eucalyptus oil in the diffuser if you’re suffering from a sinus infection, cold or allergies.

The diffuser is available on Amazon for only $15.95.
