Trends / Unique Itineraries & Tours

Wherever humans gather, crime is sure to follow in some kind of capacity. These European cities have a number of true crime attractions and tours to appease even the most morbidly curious traveler.

London

London is a bastion of great tours and museums for U.K.-based fans of true crime. There are many Jack the Ripper tours, including one that comes with a mini-projector to help tourists view London as it existed during Jack’s reign of terror.

If tours aren’t your favorite activity, the True Crime Museum is a short drive south from London proper. The museum offers looks at some of the darkest parts of crime in the United Kingdom.

Sicily

The Italian peninsula brings us away from the serial and spree killers and into a different type of crime — the mafia.

Sicily’s anti-mafia tour gives interested tourists a look at the history of the mafia in ethical and anti-mafia sentiments. These tours range between all different types, from all-day tours to self-guided tours, historical tours and bike tours. There are endless ways to discover the true crime history of Sicily.

Rothenburg, Germany

On the outset, Rothenburg, Germany, looks like a picturesque town out of a fairy tale. While it certainly nails this aesthetic, it is also home to an incredible crime museum, the Medieval Crime and Justice Museum. The museum details 1,000 years of history regarding crime and punishment in Germany. This museum is something special because it offers a look at medieval law as well as true crime.

Frankfurt, Germany

Frankfurt offers a tour detailing the city’s history of crime. The tour examines infamous and obscure crimes from the Middle Ages through the 1950s.

The tour takes two hours and takes guests to a variety of locations important to the city’s crime history.
