Tips / Travel

Traveling is not always good for your waistline. Between the constant eating out and lack of time for a trip to the gym, it’s easy to let your health fall to the wayside. Here are a few exercises you can do in your hotel room to help stay in shape while you travel.

Squats

You don’t need a barbell to get in a few good squats, one of the best exercises for overall health. Simply position yourself in front of a desk or counter for stability and work those hamstrings. It’ll help your legs stay primed for all the walking travel requires.

Planks

A solid core is essential for good health, so practice your planks every night before you hit the sack. If you’re unfamiliar with planks, you simply balance yourself on your forearms and toes while staying as still and straight as possible. It’s harder than it sounds, but the results are phenomenal.

Jumping Jacks

Jumping jacks are a great way to burn some calories without tearing apart your knees, especially if you’re not into running. You can do them just about anywhere, from your hotel room to the airport lounge.

Pushups

Your arms need attention too, so hit the floor and give me 50. Pushups are a great way to keep your arms and chest toned while on the road. Most bodybuilders incorporate them into their workout routines because, as far as bodyweight exercises go, they’re almost as good as bench presses.
