On a mission for the best food in the country? There are 169 Michelin-starred restaurants in the United States, spread out between four cities — New York, San Francisco, Chicago and Washington, D.C.

Michelin has put together guides and awarded stars to the some of the world’s best restaurants since 1926, and following the launch of the 2017 Michelin Guides, Orbitz created a map plotting the location of every Michelin-starred restaurant in the country. They also figured out the shortest route to hit them all (or at least a lot of them).

The map reveals the optimal route for visiting the best restaurants in the country is 3,426 miles, and were you to dine out every night, it would take roughly five months to visit them all. The longest distance between stops is 2,111 miles between two-star Bouchon in Yountville, Calif., and the one-star El Ideas in Chicago.

New York remains the Michelin Star Capital with 77 starred restaurants, but San Francisco is not far behind with 54 starred restaurants, and, for the first time, as many three-star spots as New York. Chicago is home to 26 starred restaurants, while Washington, D.C., has 12.

Looking for the best of the best? New York and San Francisco both boast six three-star restaurants, the highest possible rating; Chicago has two three-star restaurants and five two-star restaurants; and while Washington, D.C. does not have a three-star dining spot, it does have three two-star spots. The rest are one-star restaurants, still well worth a visit.

Check out the Orbitz map, and start planning your restaurant road trip.
