San Francisco-based start-up app Jobr offers an informal approach to job hunting for the modern career seeker. The app matches prospective employees with open positions that may interest them based on a series of questions in their profile and Jobr’s algorithm.

Users can swipe left or right on job postings, weeding out uninterested employers while narrowing down top matches. Known as the “Tinder for jobs,” Jobr’s swiping feature allows users to connect with recruiters and employers based on their mutual interest.

Upon its initial launch, Jobr raised more than $2 million in startup funds and joined the ranks of Monster.com. The innovative job search technique was acquired by Monster just two years after its initial founding. Jobr will remain its own entity while adding to the millions of jobs available on Monster.

By integrating key aspects of Jobr with Monster, the millennial-focused brand will be able to broaden the job search for users with the extensive community of career opportunities garnered by Monster.

Employers can post jobs for $100–300 a month based on the number of job slots listed. Prospective employees can apply their mobile number online for a downloadable link or just download the app directly from a mobile device.
