As a keen traveler, you probably spend hours planning routes and imagining what amazing experiences your next adventure will bring.
For those of us with fertile imaginations prone to wandering, it is sometimes easy to lose sight of the less glamorous parts of traveling. Luggage, it must be said, is one of those parts.
However, it is important to remember your luggage will go with you everywhere you go, and it’s worth investing in a decent piece of kit. Floatti bills itself as the world’s first super suitcase, a grand claim but one worth looking into.
At first glance it looks like any other executive suitcase, with four wheels and a handle. However, that handle is smart, with touch control and notifications. In fact, the whole bag is smart, with an anti-loss system that sends notifications when the luggage arrives at your destination.
Floatti has also fitted suspension to the wheels for a more comfortable user experience, and is so confident in the longevity of the bag that it is offering a 10-year warranty.
Inside is a lightweight battery pack that can charge your phone while you are on the move. Other high-tech features include an accompanying app which is used to receive notifications from the bag, such as when it arrives at baggage reclaim.
Another useful feature is the built-in scale, which means you know whether or not you are over the weight limit before you even get to the airport. Indeed, the Floatti designers are intent on making travel a less stressful experience.
To that end the makers also offer the option of Belonging Trackers you can affix to important items, which will then also be tracked by the Floatti app.
The Floatti carry-on is expected to retail for $550 after orders placed during a successful Kickstarter campaign are completed.
