Located in Quebec, northwest of Montreal, the Laurentians region is home to many culinary and agritourism attractions.
Popular ski village Mont-Tremblant features many quaint restaurants and cafés. Sample traditional Canadian treats including beaver tails and poutine. The town plays host to an annual food festival, Tremblant Gourmand, boasting demonstrations and tastings throughout the village and into the mountain’s hiking trails.
Chemin du Terroir is a sign-posted trail spanning more than 140 miles. Many agritourism attractions are located within the area. Les Serres Stéphane Bretrand is an innovative greenhouse, specializing in pink tomatoes. Visit the storefront for fresh produce and treats. Enjoy a tasting at the award-winning La Roche des Brises winery. The vineyard boasts 37,000 grape vines and specializes in ice wines. Les Verger Lafrance is a bakery and distillery, offering many complimentary tastings. Cider, pastries and apple products are standouts.
Go on a tour of Intermiel, a family-run farm specializing in honey and maple products. The facility is home to 8,000 beehives, a 14,000-tap sugar bush and an orchard with 600 apple trees. Intermiel sells mead, an alcoholic beverage created by fermenting honey. With the wide range of products in their shop, honey and maple products are the stars.
