Winter is coming.
Devoted fans of Game of Thrones already know iconic scenes from the series were filmed in or around Belfast. With the growing popularity of the show, fans have the opportunity to discover an up-close-and-personal experience of the filming locations through a variety of tours.
Castle Ward, better known to Game of Thrones buffs as Winterfell, is located about 40 minutes outside of Belfast. Clearsky Adventure Centre offers individuals and groups activities like film set archery lessons, a boat tour of locations including Dreadfort and Robb Stark’s camp and cycling tours of locations around Castle Ward. Belfast City Tours runs a bus tour of the popular filming locations from the comfort of a 24-seat bus. McComb’s Travel transports visitors along various locations on an all day tour. Visit The King’s Road and have lunch at The Fullerton Arms, used by cast and crew. Drivers have firsthand knowledge of Game of Thrones — they also drive extras from the series during filming.
