As far as accommodation options go, hostels have received a major facelift in recent years. They not only cater to the young, broke traveler but boutique-style lodging is entering the industry and attracting all ages and all budgets.

One particular brand in Europe promotes itself as ¨more than a hostel.¨ Generator is a brand of accommodation in some of Europe´s biggest cities such as Paris, Barcelona, Berlin and Rome, among others. The luxury hostel has built itself on the idea of groupaways by offering comfortable rooms for groups who are traveling together. Copious common areas like cafés, outdoor patios, bars and lounges promote socializing with your group and fellow travelers.

Generator hostels offer group tours, excursions, daytrips and sports-watching parties at the property. Guests have access to more hotel-like amenities like a 24-hour laundry room, electronic key cards and car rentals.

Rooms start at an affordable rate of $25, and some properties have the option to upgrade to penthouse suites with balconies for $100 per night. They also offer special rates during youth-oriented travel times such as before school starts in the fall; fall and spring breaks; and just after graduation season.

The group-centric hostel welcomes solo travelers, as well, but the main draw is for groups who want to share the travel experience in a fun, young environment. Generator´s goal is to offer a modern, amenities-rich accommodation option for the budget traveler.

Interior Upgrades Begin Rolling Out Across United Fleet

United Airlines is in the midst of a major initiative to modernize its fleet over the next several years. After first announcing the plan in 2021, planes fitted with United’s signature interior are finally beginning to appear across the airline’s narrowbody fleet of Boeing and Airbus planes. United flyers are sure to notice these enhancements from the moment they step on board: Each new or updated plane sports remodeled seats, seatback entertainment screens for everyone, Bluetooth connectivity and more, all adding up to a better experience on every journey.
