Anyone who has flown enough knows the cost of airfare is constantly changing. What you pay for your flight and what the person next to you pays for the same flight can be potentially very different. ExpertFlyer hopes to change things, with the brand’s service alerting you to changing airfares, so you can book the best seat possible for the lowest price possible.

Unlike similar websites, ExpertFlyer does not actually sell or provide tickets. Rather, they give you all the information you need in one place to find the best airfare for your trip. In order to use the free version of the ExpertFlyer service, all you have to do is sign up. Then, you’re able to find your flight, pick the seat you want most and then set up a Seat Alert to be notified when the seat you want, or any particular kind of seat (such as window), is available. When your seat is found available, you can book it and go.

There are two paid options, basic ($4.99 per month) and premium ($9.99 per month). With both, there’s no need to already have a flight booked, and you can more thoroughly explore your flight options. With the basic subscription, you can search the site up to 250 times per month, see data from more than 400 airlines, search according to available upgrades and awards and more. Added bonuses with the pricier option include aircraft change alerts, the ability to save searches and access to a mobile edition of the site.

If you’re an avid frequent flyer and your seating options are incredibly important to you, then a premium subscription could be worth it. However, if you only fly a few times per year and mostly in economy, the free version may be all you need for the time being.
