Find your Zen during a Goat Yoga fitness class. The newly established concept provides animal therapy-based yoga practice for holistic health and wellness. Workouts occur once a week on a picturesque farm in Corvallis, Ore., while goats roam freely during class.
Classes range from $20–30 per workout, and guests sign up for classes in advance. Depending on the season, guests roll out their mat in the barn or a field, while goats of all shapes and sizes roam over, under and around yogis. Expect baby goats to cuddle, play and climb on guests’ backs during the workout.
The goat therapy combined with yoga practice has become incredibly popular, with a waiting list of more than 1,000 hopeful attendees. Much like canine or equine therapy, goat therapy is believed to ease stress and signs of depression while producing a myriad of positive side effects.
Being so popular, Goat Yoga branched out in the Oregon area with yoga and wine events. Guests enjoy wine tastings and Goat Yoga classes at various Oregon wineries, twice a week, from $50–75 per class.
