Constant debate floats through the travelsphere, revolving around the best day and time to book airfare with the lowest possible cost. As this information continues to ebb and flow, Google Flights developed a data-backed way to clue its users into prime flight purchasing opportunities.
Since its inception, Google Flights has provided travelers with price predictions by way of a calendar that shows the price fluctuations from day to day, as well as a personalized notification system to alert travelers of the potential rise or drop in prices. A new feature of the app will alert users if and when the price special may expire, thus informing travelers of the deadline of a specific offer. Based on constantly updating data, users will be able to know how much time they may have to book a flight and how many hours they have to think about whether they want to jump the gun and book the flight before the price disappears.
Travelers searching the best and cheapest routes to a certain destination will also now receive tips about how to find the best fares. For example, if the destination has more than one airport, flying into the alternative airport may be a cheaper option, or there may be a less-direct route or less-popular date that will save the traveler a few hundred bucks.
With continued updates and consistent new features, Google Flights aims to be the one-stop shop for some of travel’s best deals.
