Trends / Unique Itineraries & Tours

The healing waters of Edipsos have drawn travelers, celebrities, artists and monarchs to Greece for millennia, all the way back to Marcus Aurelius and Constantine the Great. The spring baths are said to contain therapeutic properties that made the small city a haven for holistic spas. Of course, there are plenty more things to see and do here than simply soak in the water.

At the center of town lies a remarkable testament to the brilliance and architectural prowess of Greek builders, Agioi Anargyroi Hydrotherapy Centre. Famed architect Ziller designed the large red building in the 19th century and it stands in stark contrast to the predominantly white landscape surrounding it. Inside lies one of the town’s best resorts.

If you’re an adventurous traveler you’ll also want to seek out the Edipsos Diving Centre. Just off the coast of Greece lies some of the Mediterranean’s most beautiful coral reefs, caves and wreck sites to explore. Edipsos is also a favorite among fisherman and has many opportunities to charter a boat to fish offshore.

Nearby you’ll also find the Cave of Sulla, once the site of a small spa frequented by Roman general Sulla, the domed cave now stands as a historical monument honoring Oman Emperor Hadrian and Septimius Severus. At the bottom you’ll discover statues with inscriptions dedicated to these men.

Finally, be sure to explore nature while in Edipsos and take a trek up to the Drimonas waterfalls. They rest along the path that leads to the top of Xiro Mountain, the peak of which provides breathtaking views of the surrounding region.
