Take advantage of a new lineup of offers, discounts and deals in honor of Women’s History Month. Created by Los Angeles Tourism’s Discover LA Exclusives program, travelers and locals alike can celebrate and support women-owned businesses in Los Angeles by jumping on a slew of female-centric tours this month — some at discounted rates!
Discover LA Exclusives offers special options, pricing, customized excursions and behind-the-scenes access, including this list through March:
Celebrate women in film at LEVEL Downtown L.A. with films by four amazing directors, including Lulu Wang’s The Farewell (March 25); Greta Gerwig’s Lady Bird (March 26); Gina Prince-Bythewood’s Love and Basketball (March 27); and Sofia Coppola’s Lost in Translation (March 29). Tickets begin at $17.
Meet the women leading L.A.’s beer scene while tasting and chatting with the best female-led brew masters in the business. Each tour will highlight female brewers and brew-pub owners with discussions, flight samples and behind-the-scenes access. Tours include an experienced guide, three brewery visits with a beer flight at each and a behind-the-scenes tour. South Bay tour kicks off March 22 and Downtown L.A. is March 29. Tickets are $69 a person, $40 a person for non-drinkers, but all must be 21 or older.
From celebrities and chefs to real estate moguls, The Women Who Made L.A. tour showcases the powerful females from the last century by visiting their landmarks in the city, tasting their creations and learning all about their impact on La La Land. The tour includes a light lunch and takes place March 21, 10 a.m., for $89 per person.
The Women Who Shaped DTLA walking tour takes guests through the city along the footsteps of its powerful females. Learn about different passions and beliefs these women brought to the city, like why it should be the next Paris; an early advocate for water conservation; and another who used her power as a popular vaudeville actress to campaign for women’s suffrage. See where they ran businesses, performed, socialized, fought for female rights and more. Tours are available March 11–18, 3–5 p.m., for $27 for adults and $12 for children.
Through the exclusive Women on Wheels bike tour through Downtown L.A., guests can learn about female pioneers who helped shape the city, some dating back to the 1800s. All women featured in the women-owned bike tour somehow influenced development, policy and the arts of Los Angeles. The tour focuses on empowering all levels of cyclists, so everyone feels safe and confident navigating Downtown. Tours extend 2.5 hours and are available Sundays in March at 2 p.m. Riders should arrive 10 minutes before the tour and must be 12 or older. The $40 ticket includes a bike, helmet and guided tour.
The Women in the Arts District Wine and Dine Tour allows foodies to meet female restaurateurs for an afternoon of wine tasting and expertly paired tasting menus from notable women winemakers. The experience includes essentially a full lunch of tastings, with three wine flights, dessert and a chance to observe some female artists’ work on nearby murals. The tour is March 28 and tickets cost $120 per person.
Celebrate women entrepreneurs on a food tour with a surprise at the Original Farmers Market in Old Pasadena. This multiple tasting food tour highlights businesses owned and operated by incredible women. A fun bonus? Guests get to take home a gift from an esteemed woman-owned business on either tour.
